Martin Kaymer feels that he will continue his good run at the Portuguese soil as he moves on to start his campaign at the Oceanico Victoria Golf Course on October 11. Kaymer holds a very good record playing in Portugal where he managed to register top-ten finish twice.

Few days back, Martin Kaymer played a terrific role in Europe’s Ryder Cup win as he outclassed US’ Steve Stricker in a singles match to secure one point that was needed for Europe’s victory. Incidentally, Europe came from behind and retained their Ryder Cup title. Kaymer required a six-foot putt in the 18^th green to make it happen for Europe and he did it successfully. Later on a discussion Martin Kaymer told that it was not that easy because of the mounting pressure. All he had to do was to keep his mind cool and he did it with perfection.

The 27-year old German had a disastrous before the Ryder Cup where he didn’t even secure a single top-ten finish. But the 2010 PGA Winner rose to the occasion and proved his class. Now he thinks he is getting back his form. He mentioned that he emphasized on his swing so much that his short game was neglected a bit. Now he has started working on it and feels that it will be a matter of time when he will reach his peak. Martin Kaymer finished 34^th at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship recently and told that he made some serious mistakes which troubled him at the Championship.

Kaymer is now busy rectifying his putting techniques as he heads forward to Portugal. According to him the previous experiences will fetch him some advantages in Portugal. He also asserted that he was contended with the way he hit the ball. He didn’t bother much about his performance at the Alfred Dunhill as he thought it was a bad day. Now he is confident about going there and have a go at it.

The former world number one Martin Kaymer is shocked to see the inclusion of Brand Snedeker in the US Ryder Cup team. The US skipper Davis Love III chose the rookie Snedeker as his pick ahead of Hunter Mahan and Rickie Fowler. Love’s four picks were Dustin Johnson, Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk and Snedeker.

Kaymer is really astonished with the picking of Snedeker ahead of Mahan or Fowler. He told that although it was a tough choice between Mahan, Fowler and Brandt but the experience of Mahan or Fowler would be an asset. Snedeker is a real good player but the other two have been a part of the 2010 US Ryder Cup team and they know the pressure.

The German golfer has been out of the circuit for a few weeks and now he is preparing for the KLM Open. Having won the last automatic spot of the European Ryder Cup team, he seems a little relaxed now. He is grouped with the European captain Olazabal and his would-be-teammate in the Ryder Cup, Nicolas Colsaerts. Martin Kaymer reported that they should be sharing their thoughts on the Ryder Cup but his main aim would be to open his title account of this year.

The anxious moments are gone, said Kaymer, as he has been selected in the team. He withdrew his name from the final European Qualifying event last month and it could happen that Kaymer wouldn’t get a spot in the team if Nicolas Colsaerts had finished among the top two at the Johnnie Walker Championship. Kaymer appreciated Colsaerts performance and he wouldn’t have been so unhappy if Colsaerts were to take his place.

Martin Kaymer is a kind of a guy who doesn’t look at the leaderboard if he’s not in that championship. But he told that he was observing Colsaerts’ efforts at the Gleneagles as he was a little doubtful about his own place at the team.
