Kaymer Misses the Cut

Martin Kaymer, the new world No.1 and the PGA Championship winner in 2010, has missed the cut for the Masters and failed to even break par, which comes as a major surprise in the golf-circuit.

Kaymer is an exceptionally talented player and there is a belief that he will be able to turn around this negative phase of his game with his brilliance and class. Some however say that his ball flight which is left to right is not suited for the Augusta National layout and hence the disappointing result. Martin Kaymer however is a player with a lot of talent and the young German will ultimately be getting the best out of his game. The manner in which he holed a lengthy putt against Bubba Watson at the PGA Championship was brilliant. He showed poise when he was one down in the shootout as he holed a birdie on the 17 and getting the job done in the last and winning his first major.

Kaymer started 2011 with a grand victory with an eight-shot victory against Rory McIlroy in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship. His third win in the tournament. Tiger Woods’ failing form and Lee Westwood’s slow start along with his winning streak, helped Kaymer gather world ranking points and ensured him to bag the world No.1 ranking after the Accenture Match Play in February, 2011. He reached the top of the charts in the world ranking at the young age of 26 years.

Kaymer’s performance and his consistent win in tournaments and majors has ensured that he wins the Golfer of the Month award, and in 2011 he won it twice, once after winning the UBS Hong Kong Open and again after winning the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in January of 2011.

Martin Kaymer will start the new season as the world No. 4.
